DIGITAL SECURITY

Digital transformation is one of the indispensable driving forces behind the rapid development of business today. It has affected many industries, such as transportation, hotels, telecommunications, banking and pharmaceuticals, among others. For example, the emergence of ride hailing services such as Uber has transformed the transportation industry. Today, Uber has become synonymous with disruptive innovation.

A new word – ‘Uberisation’ – has even been coined to describe the transformation of traditional industries by technology-driven, sharing economy models. Of course, Uber is just one example. As these new forms of digitalisation drive business forward, it is important for organisations to continue to use new technologies to transform and innovate.

The application of digitalisation in modern businesses must focus on the application of related-IT technologies. First, we must consider customer relationship management (CRM). It is the area in an enterprise where the most customer information is gathered. It is also the area in which digital transformation can have a significant impact.

Today, the focus of most enterprises has shifted from being product-centric to customer-centric, which sees the entire production and operation process of the enterprise effectively combined with the needs of customers. CRM systems use intelligent production methods and supply chain operations to realise the digital production mode of ‘customer demand determines production’. This ‘demand-production’ model breaks the traditional corporate service model.

Whether a company provides physical products or service solutions, it must adopt the principal of ‘customer demand-driven production’ to reduce risks and build competitiveness.

Of course, constructing a digital platform also involves technical risks. The first is data protection design in the digital solution.
