Amy Kovalan joined McDonald’s Corporation in 2011 where she leads McDonald’s compliance strategy globally and is responsible for administering McDonald’s compliance programme, including anti-corruption initiatives, stakeholder engagement, due diligence and compliance investigations. Ms Kovalan’s remit also includes safety governance. She has more than 20 years’ experience in compliance and safety, having previously launched compliance programmes at the City of Chicago and DePaul University and served as the chief safety and security officer for the Chicago Transit Authority. Ms Kovalan’s educational background includes a BA in government and international studies from the University of Notre Dame, a law degree from The John Marshall Law School, and an executive MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School. In addition, she is licensed to practice law in Illinois.
