Savicki: As an in-house professional, you need to have a strong background and level of expertise while being adaptable to evolving developments. It is an increasingly complex geopolitical and regulatory ecosystem, and being a voracious reader of relevant content such as curated law firm alerts and publications can be immensely helpful. Staying abreast of recent enforcement actions and best practices helps to also provide effective feedback loops and powerful lessons learned for your business partners. Having a flexible solution-oriented approach and willingness to adapt to changing external requirements and dynamics are a must. Being a great issue spotter is key, but you also need to be willing to engage effective local counsel to address any blind spots to effectively manage risk where appropriate.
