David A. Kass is senior vice president, deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer for Verizon. He is responsible for managing Verizon’s global compliance and risk management programme. His team handles investigations, compliance training and communications, enterprise risk management, and subject areas including anticorruption, political compliance, trade compliance, high-risk regulatory issues, and environment, health and safety. Mr Kass received his BA and JD from Duke University, where he was a member of the Duke Law Review and the Order of the Coif. After graduating from law school, he worked as an associate in the Washington DC office of Latham & Watkins. Before coming to Verizon, Mr Kass led oversight and investigations for three committees in the US House of Representatives and Senate.
