Dr Martin Petrasch is a German attorney who has served in the compliance legal department at Siemens since 2011. Since 2021, he has led the global internal investigations department as well as the compliance regulatory department. In addition, he functions as the central point of contact for the compliance whistleblower hotline and for the external ombudsperson, acting as the reporting office within the meaning of the German Whistleblower Protection Act. Mr Petrasch commenced his professional career within the Bavarian judiciary. From 2001 to 2005, he served as a public prosecutor specialising in white-collar crime. Following a three‑year secondment to the Federal Ministry of Justice in Berlin, he returned to the Bavarian judiciary, serving for several years as a judge at the Regional Court in Nuremberg, where he presided over both civil and criminal matters, including the Commercial Criminal Chamber. He is the author of numerous publications and a frequent speaker at national and international compliance conferences. His professional focus lies on corporate compliance, internal investigations, ethics, and legal issues pertaining to in‑house (criminal) law.
